Trump Lies like my Cat, except my cat was cute, and clever. Trump is ugly, and stupid.
And I love that cat. She passed away eight years ago, and she's still with me.
My cat, Cuenca, lied. She caught bugs and tried for birds (none came near), ignored me, and took credit for stopping all sorts of evil things from happening. She picked fights with other cats and preened when the other cats backed down. Then she would discover that she loves me. She cuddles up to me, purrs, and gives me lots of love. Okay, I know, off to the kitchen for a bit of dry food that she really likes and more importantly, was special for her for a medical condition. Not even a thank you, and certainly no more love.
But the best example of her (brilliant, she thought) manipulation was when I was away. She’d cuddle up to Françoise —“I’ve ALWAYS loved YOU,” she seemed to say. Until the moment the door opened, and it was me and them, pow, she was by me, reminding me that “I’ve ALWAYS loved YOU.”
She was see-through in the cutest possible way.
Trump lies like a cat. Normal people understand that if you said something last week, you (probably) still mean it this week. In April 2023, Trump said, “I was able to kill Roe v Wade”. In April 2024, he said he was "proudly the person responsible for the ending of something that all legal scholars, both sides, wanted and, in fact, demanded to be ended: Roe v. Wade. They wanted it ended." And he said a variation on that right up until Friday 23rd of August 2024.
Last Friday, Trump posted on his “Truth Social” that “My Administration will be great for women and their reproductive rights.”
So cute.
Sort of like when I'm away, and Cuenca realises that Françoise is her only option to be fed. “I’ve ALWAYS loved YOU.” This after years of “Grab them by the kitty-cat". Cheating on every woman he married, including with the woman he would marry next. Paid off a porn star. Convicted of “rape”. In 2019, PBS provided a list of 16 separate claims of sexual assault by Trump. And that was five years ago. More have come forward since. In May of 2023, Business Insider listed 26 complaints.
And this after overturning Roe v Wade. Yes, he claimed to do it. "For 54 years they were trying to get Roe v. Wade terminated, and I did it. And I'm proud to have done it." The link contains a number of bits of video of him saying.
Now, suddenly, when the evangelicals are looking the other way, and he’s afraid he’s lost almost the entire women’s vote, suddenly, “I’ve ALWAYS loved YOU.”
Just how stupid does he think American women are?
I cannot imagine that any of the non-evangelical women believe a word he says. And now the evangelical fruit-loops will have to decide if they are stupid enough to believe that he is lying on their behalf (which presumably will be just fine with them, or has been until now), or he really will sell them out, just like he did every other woman in his life.
My guess is that he actually thinks people only believe the last thing he said. Just like my cat. Only, my cat was cuter, and smarter.
